If you are scared tonight
You still have rights in this space. Keep the paper. Photograph every page. If a court is named, the Eviction Defense Project or Oregon Law Help the same day — park or apartment. A park rulebook does not cancel an appearance. You do not have to solve the whole case tonight.

Why oregonrentersrights.org ships two handbooks
On 8 September 2026 the handbooks page listed two PDFs: Guide to Landlord Tenant Law in Oregon, and Guide to Manufactured Home Parks. That split is the education. A space rental in a park is often not the same pile as an apartment under the ordinary Chapter 90 sections people quote from a blog. We will not invent the park chapter or a day-count. Open their current park guide, or take the paper to legal aid and ask which statute applies to this space.
The same hub lists Portland-only deposit and application notes next to statewide deposit notes, plus repairs, discrimination, rent-increase and relocation, termination, and court process (including stipulated agreements and setting aside a default). Those headings are a map. They are not ORS Chapter 90, and they carry no visible date on the HTML we opened.
Their own disclaimer: the site is general information, not legal advice, and the law may vary from town to town. Believe that — especially in a park, where city overlay, park rules, and the space-rental statute can all be in play.
CAT letters and apartment FAQs can name the wrong process
Community Alliance of Tenants publishes apartment-shaped samples — repair requests, move-out notices, deposit condition reports. A park tenancy can still use a dated written request. It may not use the same notice name or the same court caption. Do not paste an apartment template onto a space rental and call it done.
Stay Housed LA, LAHD, and Housing Rights Center are Los Angeles doors. They do not hear a Clackamas County park case. HUD is still the federal discrimination floor in a park. A HUD complaint still does not pause an Oregon FED.
How to tell which rulebook you are in
- 1
Name what you rent
The home, the space, or both. The lease and any park rules go with the notice.
- 2
Open the park guide if this is a manufactured-home park
oregonrentersrights.org/handbooks. Confirm it is the current file. We do not host a copy.
- 3
If a court is named, legal aid the same day
Eviction Defense Project or Oregon Law Help. Tell them it is a park. The caption matters.
- 4
Do not invent a deadline from an apartment blog
City overlay, park rules, and the space-rental statute can all apply. Ask the office that administers them.
Questions
Direct answers
Is a manufactured-home park in Oregon under the same law as an apartment?
Not always. oregonrentersrights.org publishes a separate park guide next to its apartment-oriented landlord-tenant guide. Ask legal aid which rulebook applies to this space. We will not invent the chapter.
Can I use a CAT repair letter in a park?
As a dated written request, often yes. As the correct notice name or court process, maybe not. Confirm with the park guide or legal aid.
Does the Eviction Defense Project take park cases?
If a court is named, reach them or Oregon Law Help and say it is a park. Do not assume an apartment FAQ covers the caption.
Is oregonrentersrights.org the official park statute?
No. It is a handbook hub. The PDFs are a classroom. The current text lives in Oregon law. Their own page says the information is not legal advice.
Do Stay Housed or LAHD cover an Oregon park?
No. Those are Los Angeles doors. Use Oregon legal aid and the Oregon park guide.
Where do I start tonight in a park?
Keep the paper. If a court is named, Eviction Defense Project or Oregon Law Help the same day. If it is only a park notice, date it, then open the manufactured-home-parks guide — and confirm the current law.
